Impact
We are building an impact picture that shows who gains access, what Artists experience, and how their confidence, connection, belonging, and other skills change over time. Here is what we can verify so far, for the reporting period noted below.
Our promise deserves proof.
Research identifies connection and supportive relationships as important to young people's well-being. Studies of organized youth activities also point to the value of structure, belonging, skill-building, and positive relationships with peers and adults. Those findings inform our approach; they are not a measured result of SSF's program.
In 2025-2026 THE SOUND SUPPORT FOUNDATION:
• Reached 2,000+ young people through performances, clinics, and scholarships
• Delivered 100+ performances nationwide, including headlining the America250 Celebration on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
• Awarded over $300,000 in scholarships to 100+ young people
• Partnered with 25+ organizations across the country
• Measured Artist-reported outcomes: not yet available. We are developing the evaluation work to report this directly in a future update.
• Recognition: ensembles at Caleb Chapman's Soundhouse — the performance training environment SSF helps fund and expand access to — have earned 141 DownBeat awards (most in the nation) and 60 Best of State medals since 2008. These honors recognize musical achievement; they are not a measure of SSF's mental health mission.
• Financial transparency: achieved GuideStar/Candid Platinum Transparency status
