Empowering young musicians. Transforming lives.
The Sound Support Foundation, founded in 2023 by GRAMMY-nominated bandleader and educator Caleb Chapman and his wife, Tommie Chapman, is a 501(c)(3) national music charity with a mission to strengthen the mental health, confidence, and resilience of young people through world-class music performance training. Since our founding, we have reached more than 2,000 students, produced 100+ performances, and awarded over $300,000 in scholarships to more than 100 students, in partnership with 25+ organizations nationwide.
Research shows that participation in music can significantly improve mental health, especially for young people. The Sound Support Foundation’s programs go beyond traditional music education by adding in the power of performance training. This unique approach not only teaches young musicians to excel on stage but also provides them with tools to build confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being. By fostering creativity, self-expression, and a sense of accomplishment, the foundation helps students develop skills that enhance their mental health and success in life, while also promoting the future of music education in our communities.
